Troops recover M60 machine gun in Oriental Mindoro

With the intensive peace and development efforts of the 203rd Infantry Brigade, 2ID in the provinces of Mindoro, one (1) US M60 machine gun was recovered at Sitio Nawa, Brgy. Morente, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro on March 20, 2016, around 4:30 in the morning. According to Col Gavin D Edjawan INF (MNSA) PA, Commander, 203rd Bde, a concerned citizen tip-off to the troops that the group of Ka Insay / Maring left a high-powered firearm on the said area. Right away, after verifying the information, a clearing operation was successfully launched. MGen Romeo G Gan AFP, Commander, 2ID applauded the troops for their successful operation, and said that the recovery of the M60 machine gun is a big blow to the armed rebels as it will largely affect their combat capability. Likewise, he urged everyone to continuously support the peace and development efforts of the government especially the soldiers on the ground. “The help and support of every individual is truly integral for us to sustain peace and development within our area, without it, we can never attain success,” said MGen Gan. “It is therefore necessary for you to continuously help us in further degrading the armed rebels who serve as barriers for us to achieve our common goal,” he added.
