More and more badminton players visit Camp Capinpin

Based on the visitor’s log of the Headquarters, 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, it has been observed that more and more badminton players are visiting Camp Capinpin particularly the Pelota Court. The increase started on the third week of February 2016 following the Blessing and Unveiling of Marker of Badminton Court on February 12, 2016 with LtGen Eduardo M Año AFP, Commanding General, Philippine Army as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Prior to the said Blessing and Unveiling of Marker, the Badminton Court was fully renovated and refurbished in order to cater the increasing numbers of players composed of organic members of H2ID, dependents, and civilians. According to MGen Romeo G Gan AFP, Commander, 2ID the said undertaking is in line with the advocacy of 2ID in promoting active and healthy lifestyle to all Jungle Fighters and its constituents. The Pelota Court is just one among the various facilities inside Camp Capinpin like GENSAN Pistol Range, Sierra Madre Golf and Country Club (SMGCC), and 2ID Towering (Zipline and Rapelling) which can be enjoyed by all Jungle Fighters as well as its visitors. “We are expecting that more and more visitors from all walks of life will visit the Home of the Jungle Fighters because aside from the refurbishment and renovation of Pelota Court, other facilities like additional Mushroom Pergolas, and the Single Storey Day Care Center at the Matikas Park, are still being constructed. Likewise, the Sandiwa Bamboo Park located near Sierra Madre Golf and Country Club (SMOCH) is also being developed. Moreso, we continuously maintain the beautiful sceneries and landscapes of the Camp by continuously planting more trees and various flowering plants,” said Col Lenard T Agustin GSC (INF) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID.
