CAMP GEN MATEO CAPINPIN, TANAY, RIZAL – MGen R Demosthenes C Santillan, AFP Vice Commander, Philippine Army, and at the same time Chairperson of PA GAD Focal Point System headed the conduct of 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division Gender Awareness and Development (GAD) Audit which started on April 8-10, 2015.
The three-day audit is focused on measuring the unit’s level in terms of gender mainstreaming using Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) tool.
The opening program started at 10:00 am wherein Col Rolando C Manalo GSC (Inf) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID stressed that being guided and supported by Higher Headquarters, the 2ID continuously promotes gender equity and fairness among its Officers, Enlisted Personnel and Civilian Employees through immense conduct of various Gender Awareness and Development programs and activities.
Likewise, MGen Romeo G Gan AFP, Commander, 2ID, expressed the commitment of 2ID to be always compliant with the intent of Higher Headquarters in promoting and advocating GAD.
The activity included GAD Unit Briefing which was presented by Lt Col Rogelio P Percol GSC (Inf) PA, G1, 2ID followed by the Gender Audit Orientation presented by Maj Maria Victoria B Agoncillo (Cav) PA, Chief, OAGAD, PA and an Open Forum with Col Manalo as the moderator.
Survey Questionnaires were also prepared by the audit team and were answered by both Senior and Junior Officers of 2ID.
Prior to the program proper, MGen Santillan was tendered with Military Honors which was immediately followed by a symbolic Tree Planting at Matikas Park and at Division Training School (DTS) Park. Likewise, he was given a miniature of Gen Capinpin as memento during the opening program.
