MGen Gan: “This is not my farewell visit yet.”

“This is not my farewell visit yet,” said MGen Romeo G Gan AFP, Commander, 2ID to the troops as he  visited one (1) line Brigade and two (2) subordinate Battalions of 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division on September 12 – 13, 2016. On September 12, he was at the Headquarters, 1st Infantry (Always First) Battalion stationed at Brgy Tongohin, Infanta, Quezon and on September 13, he proceeded at the Headquarters, 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade and Headquarters, 80th Infantry (Steadfast) Battalion based in Brgy West Talaongan, Cavinti, Laguna and Brgy Pinugay, Baras, Rizal respectively. As part of his visit, he spearheaded the pinning of ranks to the newly promoted Enlisted Personnel of said line units and emphasized the importance of ranks and discipline in the Military Service. “More than the rank and privileges, promotion also means new and harder responsibilities. As Non-Commissioned Officers, you have to be a role model to your subordinates, and be credible to mentor them,” said MGen Gan. He also shared how the new administration under our new President Rodrigo R Duterte is sincere and concern to the welfare of every soldier. “The Higher Headquarters has already issued new rifles, vehicles and other equipment to insure that we are at par or even better with our Asian counterparts. Likewise, at the end of October all of us will be issued with two (2) sets of our new uniform. These are manifestations that the new administration strongly supports the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR),” MGen Gan added. Likewise, he emphasized the guidance and campaign of the new administration on the war against drugs. “As law enforcers, we have to ensure that no one among us is using illegal drugs. The Armed Forces has no room for drug users,” he ended. MGen Gan: “This is not my farewell visit yet.” MGen Gan: “This is not my farewell visit yet.”MGen Gan: “This is not my farewell visit yet.”
