Jungle Fighters plant trees as part of the 2ID’s 40th Anniversary

As part of the 40th Founding Anniversary of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, Philippine Army, the Jungle Fighters planted a total of one hundred twenty (120) Auracaria trees (mini pine tree) inside Camp Capinpin on March 9, 2016 at around 7:00 in the morning. The 1st phase of the tree-planting activity served as the beginning of a month-long celebration, and is just one among the many activities that were prepared for all Jungle Fighters and its stakeholders for the said occasion. According to MGen Romeo G Gan AFP, Commander, 2ID, said undertaking is also in line with the National Greening Program of the government. Likewise, it will certainly add to the beautiful sceneries and landscapes inside Camp Capinpin later on. The Home of the Jungle Fighters usually celebrate its Founding Anniversary every 19th day of March. However, it will be culminated on a later date as it is in conflict with the other equally important activities and celebrations such as the 119th Philippine Army Day on March 22, 2016. Said culmination as well as the 2nd phase of tree-planting activity will be conducted tentatively on April 09, 2016.
