Troops of the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division participated in the Brigada Eskwela conducted by three (3) public schools within Barangay Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal on May 18, 2015.
The schools that were supported by the Command are as follows: Jose Fabella Memorial School, Sampaloc National High School, and Camp Mateo Capinpin Elementary School.
Said activity is part of the 2ID’s community-based peace and development efforts aligned with the IPSP-Bayanihan and Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) imperatives.
Likewise, it also aims to support the advocacy of the Department of Education to organize volunteers to help in repairing, repainting and cleaning of school campuses/premises before the start of classes.
“The Jungle Fighters are always eager to participate and help the community through this kind of activities as it showcase our sincerity in promoting and sustaining peace and development within our Area of Responsibility (AOR),” said Lt Col Eric C Guevarra, Battalion Commander, 2nd CMOBn, 2ID, PA.
The Brigada Eskwela which was also participated by teachers, parents, students and other local officials started at 8:00 am and ended at 5:00pm on the same day.
