Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal - The 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, PA sent-off 192 new soldiers composed of 174 males and 18 females 9:00 AM, today, January 10, 2017 at its Headquarters Grandstand.
52 of them were deployed to the 16th Infantry Battalion, 68th Infantry Battalion, and 74th Infantry Battalion, the 2ID units which are currently based in Mindanao, to beef-up their operational capability.
Meanwhile, 140 others were distributed to the other maneuver units based in the Regions 4A and 4B, the 2ID's Area of Responsibility (AOR), to also beef-up the troop strength and to support the community services that the line units are undertaking.
During the Send-Off Ceremony, BGen Rhoderick M Parayno, Commander, 2ID expressed his gratitude to the 2nd Division Training School headed by Col Rogelio P Percol for molding the new soldiers to become professional servant leaders and defenders of the nation.
Likewise, he urged the new soldiers to keep-up to the standards and add to the glory of 2ID.
"Keep your ranks on your shoulders not in your heads and carry it with great responsibility. Always do your best in doing your job, and never settle for anything less," he stressed.
Also part of the program is the blessing which was officiated by Maj Pablo R de Guzman, Division Chaplain, and giving of scapulars to the new soldiers.
The said activity was also attended by BGen Amador T Tabuga Jr AFP, Assistant Division Commander, 2ID; Col Dante R Barotilla, Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retirees Affairs, 2ID; and Col Marceliano V Teofilo, Chief of Staff, 2ID along with other Officers, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Employees.
