2ID holds May Festival and YLS Challenge 2015

CAMP GEN MATEO CAPINPIN, Tanay, Rizal –The 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, PA held a Joint Opening Ceremony of the May Festival and Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) Challenge CY 2015 held at the Division Grandstand, H2ID which was participated by various stakeholders and the youth in Southern Tagalog Region. The three (3) days activity formally opened on May 29, 2015 at 9:00 am with Hon. Rafael A Tanjuatco, Municipal Mayor of Tanay, Rizal as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. A symbolic ribbon cutting by Mayor Tanjuatco along with BGen Ferdinand F Quidilla AFP, Assistant Division Commander, 2ID, Col Lenard T Agustin GSC (INF) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID and members of the General Staff, 2ID signaled the commencement of the said activity. The activities lined up during the three (3) days affair includes Mardi Gras, Band Drill Exhibition, Street Dancing, Battle of the Band, Santacruzan, Ball Games, Filipino Games, and lectures for the character development of the youth. On his message, Mayor Tanjuatco expressed his personal joy because the said activity was spearheaded by the military. “This occasion is often held by different municipalities, provinces, schools and churches. But this time, it is the 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division that spearheaded the activity. It is something unusual, thank you 2ID,” he said. Meanwhile, BGen Quidilla conveyed the intention of 2ID headed by MGen Romeo G Gan AFP to contribute on the tourism programs in the whole province of Rizal.
