2ID conducts Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening
nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division conducted a Breast Cancer Awareness and screening among its Female Officers, Enlisted Women, Civilian Employees, and Military Dependents at the Sierra Madre Officer’s Clubhouse (SMOCH).
The activity purposely aimed to give awareness, achieve early detection and appropriate treatment, and increase breast cancer survival. It was conducted through a series of lectures, presentations, and discussions. Likewise, the clinical breast cancer will be offered to those who are interested after the forum.
During the program, Mrs. Frances Joy B. Quidilla, wife of BGen Ferdinand F Quidilla AFP, Assistant Division Commander, 2ID emphasized to the participants the importance of attending the said activity.
“It has been said that “In every success of a man is a woman.” It is true, as we share the responsibility and burden of sustaining our family. If we as a wife suffer any problem or illness, our husband and our family is also affected. Thus, as we take good care of our husband and our family, it is also essential that we take good care of our health. We have to regularly consult a doctor as well as attending seminars like this – the Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar and Screening,” said Mrs. Quidilla.
Meanwhile, Col Lenard T Agustin GSC (INF) PA, Chief of Staff, 2ID, expressed his gratitude to the Gift2Life Inc. and the PAOLC “We are very happy that there are institutions or groups like the Gift2life Inc. whose primary concern and advocacy is to help their fellow and give assistance especially to the women,” said Col Agustin.
Said activity is aligned with the intent of Higher Headquarters as part of the Gender Awareness and Development (GAD) program.
