AFP Surgeon General visits 2ID; participates in bloodletting, tree-planting activities

Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal - The 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, PA sent-off 192 new soldiers composed of 174 males and 18 females 9:00 AM, today, January 10, 2017 at its Headquarters Grandstand. 52 of them were deployed to the 16th Infantry Battalion, 68th Infantry Battalion, and 74th Infantry Battalion, the 2ID units which are currently based in Mindanao, to beef-up their operational capability. A Military Detachment based in Laiya Aplaya, San Juan, Batangas was harassed by an undetermined numbers of New People’s Army (NPAs) 10:45 PM, August 18, 2016. Three (3) members of CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) were wounded on the said harassment that lasted for about five (5) minutes. Combined elements from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) traded fires to drug personalities in Brgy. Malisbong, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro on August 2, 2016, 3:00 in the morning. While approaching (around 30 meters) in the area to serve the Warrant of Arrest to Mr. Tokan Satol and Mr. Papang Satol, the government troops were fired upon by more or less ten (10) lawless elements. "Armed rebel died, 2 HPFAs recovered by the gov't troops"

An armed rebel died while two (2) high-powered firearms were recovered following an encounter at Brgy. dela Paz, Lopez, Quezon, 5:30 this morning. The operating troops (1 Platoon) recovered an M16 rifle and a shotgun after a 20 minutes clash against more or less 30 armed rebels. The battle casualty is yet to be identified. Meanwhile, the troops are still conducting operations to track down other fleeing bandits.
